Q: How are the range figures for AI flights determined ?

During moderation, we try to set the range of the aircraft to be as close as possible to the real aircraft.

When we do not have detailed Range/Payload charts, we use the range value coming from the Wiki or any other valid source.

When users send us additional data with detailed charts, we use the point with max fuel and to the max payload possible. As AI flights are generally used with near max payload (more than 95% of the AI registered flights)

For instance, for the CRJ700 with this chart:

In this case, we obtain a range of about 2300 NM.

To facilitate aircraft add-on management and sharing, we group several add-ons under the same type.

For instance, the 8F has 5 addons in 3 different simulators:

Your particular add-on can have a very unrealistic fuel flow and allow much longer (or shorter) ranges when flying in the simulator

To propose changes on the aircraft database, we have an in-game feature to ask for specification changes:

Provide the values you suggest should be changed and a link to the source of your data.
If you do not want to use this method, you can also post a support ticket via zendesk including:
• The exact model of the aircraft
• The list of requested changes
• Document(s) supporting your claim with a clear indication of the chapter where information is present

Be aware that add-ons can have inaccurate data. Since most of the data in OA is taken directly from the aircraft add-on, some values cannot be changed unless the developer changes the add-on.
