Regular Routes Overhaul and opening to AI pilots

Regular Routes features can be accessed from a button on the main Dashboard or from a new shortcut on the main toolbar:

The routes are divided in 2 sections:

Freelance Jobs

Offer your services as a pilot, where you can fly on any real-world airliner route and get ranks for each airliner. This feature is under development and will be available in the next update.

Custom Regular Routes

Manage and fly your own routes, where you create the route schedule and destinations with templates based on real world airliners routes.

On the Regular Routes Management Main page, the list of your company current routes is displayed:

Active Route statuses are :

Ticket selling is underway, next flight date is displayed
Selling is completed. If you selected an AI pilot to fly the route, it will depart on the scheduled time. If you fly it yourself, (you selected yourself as the pilot) you can start the flight from 12 hours before until 12 hours after the scehduled time; the time in your sim will correspond to the route departure time.
The weekly flight has been completed on schedule, the route reliability is increased by 5%
The weekly flight has been completed but arrived late, the route reliability is decreased by 1%
The weekly flight has not been completed, the route reliability is decreased by 5%
The weekly flight is in underway
The flight cannot start and the reason is displayed. (Aircraft not at the departure airport, pilot or crew not available, aircraft needs maintenance, …)

Creating a Route

To create a new route, click on the “Create New Route” button. You can base your route on real world airlines routes by selecting an airline or by searching routes with specific destination or departure:

You can skip this step and manually fill in all fields by clicking on the “Skip this Step” button.

FBO are not needed anymore at the departure nor the destination of the route. For players that used the previous route format, the data has been converted.
Each route needs a reference flight made in the sim (except for Tycoon Companies) to be activated.

If you don’t have any flight with the same departure and destination in your flight log, position your aircraft in the sim at the departure airport and click Start Reference Flight. A freelance job will be generated that can be flown immediately.

Using Routes in Virtual Airlines

VA can create regular route and assign their members as the route’s pilot? The route will be displayed in the specified member routes dashboard. He can fly it 12 hours before to 12 hours after the scheduled departure time as any regular route.

During the beta, Companies are limited to 10 AI active routes.

We keep monitoring our servers closely during the beta phase to confirm that there is no significant performance hit.

By clicking on “Simbrief Dispatch” button, you can open you Simbrief web page with all known fields filled:

The SimBrief Aircraft field is needed if you want to automatically fill the aircraft type in Simbrief:
