Airport ownership
Today we deploy the airport ownership feature.
When you own an airport, you will get credits (and probably other advantages in the future) depending on the Traffic of the airport (arrival and departures)
There will be no difference in gameplay for players who do not own an airport, except that passing by some airports owned by other players will provide various bonuses.
So, the main goal of an airport owner will be to increase traffic at the airport to get rewards.
To do this, he will be able to:
- Activate various Boosts for the players passing through or landing/departing from the airport.
- Publish advertisements on a leaderboard
- Set landing and parking fees (with a maximum set by OnAir)
- Decide where the 3D scenery buildings are located and which are displayed with 3D models in MSFS when industries are built in an airport.
The rules for building an FBO will not change. Any company can still build an FBO on an airport owned by another company.
To own an airport, you need to have Airports Ownership Kits that are produced by a production chain:
The demand for end-level items like travel tokens and airport kits is what drives the entire production chain, making it a crucial aspect of the game.
Most Airport owners will not produce the Kits and will buy them from the market. We believe in the power of teamwork.
This will give new purpose to players who already own industries, enabling them to sell these products or produce Airport Ownership Kits. We encourage players to collaborate and strategize for a more enriching gaming experience.
Only airports size 0 and 1 can be owned during the coming beta phase. After gathering feedback, airports sizes 2, 3, 4, and 5 will be included in the next stage.
The weekly cost of owning an airport is as follows:
Size 0 airport: 1 Airport Ownership Kit per week
Size 1 airport: 2 Airport Ownership Kits per week
In this first beta stage, the system will provide up to 10 Airport Ownership Kits for each company so you can test out the new feature while the player’s factories are getting set up.
Note that plastic can still not be produced by the players and has to be bought on the system market; the fuel production chain is planned for the next industry update.
Airport boosts
6 differents boosts can be activated at any airport you own, you can set a boost level (1 to 3) for each.
Increasing the level of the boost increases its weekly cost more Kits and provides more bonuses.
